Lillian (Wiebe) Dick, Director of Worship

I was born into a Mennonite family, and I am so grateful for the rich spiritual and musical heritage that has been passed down through the generations. Children’s choirs, musicals, singing our hearts out at summer camp, and finally being able to sing in the adult church choir were highlights of my growing up years. Vocal training, ensembles, and a variety of choir experiences at Swift Current Bible Institute provided opportunities to sing to the Lord with increasing skill and confidence. When I asked our choir director if I should pursue more music studies he said “no”, so I chose to study nursing at the University of Calgary and loved my years working as a nurse in maternal-child health.
Ken and I were married in 1986, and we have been blessed with five wonderful children – Caleigh, Emilee, Jesse, Adrienne and Amanda. God has been so faithful to provide many opportunities to continue singing throughout the years, including nine years with Celebration of Praise and the recording of three CDs. I was asked to come on staff part-time at AAC as musical director eight years ago, and it has been my joy since then to work with wonderful musicians who want to “sing for joy to the Lord…and extol Him with music and song”! (Ps. 95)
